Entrance/Exit Counseling
Entrance counseling

Before you can receive the first disbursement of your Federal Stafford loan, Federal PLUS loan for graduate students or Federal Perkins loan, you must complete an entrance interview. The entrance interview informs you of your rights and responsibilities as a borrower.

Exit counseling

As a student loan borrower, you must complete an exit interview whenever you drop below half-time enrollment status, withdraw or graduate.

Online counseling

Entrance and exit interviews may be completed online at Mapping Your Future, if your college is a participating member. Contact the financial aid office at your graduate or professional school to find out what is required.
