Program Overview

ISAC Rules, Part 2734

NOTE: When created in 2006, the MAP Plus Program was authorized only for the 2006-07 academic year. Below is information regarding the program as administered during that year. At the current time, the authorization of MAP Plus for future years is unknown.

The Monetary Award Program Plus (MAP Plus) provides grant assistance to students who do not receive a MAP grant whose family’s adjusted gross income (AGI) is less then $200,000 in the applicable tax year. Students must be enrolled as sophomores, juniors or seniors at MAP-approved Illinois colleges. Recipients also must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Note:  A family’s AGI includes:

  • Dependent student: Parent AGI + Student AGI (if the AGI is blank, use father’s earnings + mother’s earnings + student’s earnings)
  • Independent student: Student AGI + Spouse AGI (if applicable).  [If the AGI is blank, use student earnings + spouses earnings (if applicable)]
