Program Overview

The Bonus Incentive Grant (BIG) Program is available for beneficiaries of Illinois College Savings Bonds if at least 70% of the bond proceeds are used for educational expenses at Illinois colleges and universities.

Incentives range from $40 to $440 (per $5,000 of compound accreted value) depending on when the bond matured.  The grant is funded by appropriations from the Illinois General Assembly. BIG Program funds are sent directly to the student beneficiary.
