Beginning with the 2011-12 academic year, ISAC will send only MAP ineligible acknowledgement letter to students who reside in Illinois, indicate a MAP-participating school on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and whose FAFSA data passes the federal Social Security Number (SSN) match. A copy of the MAP Rights and Responsibilities, which includes pertinent student consumer information, is enclosed with each acknowledgement letter. As a reminder, acknowledgement letters are dated and mailed three business days after the ISAC processing of the ISIR record.
Note: Schools are required to announce MAP awards to the eligible students enrolled at their institutions.
The following are specific types of 2011-12 MAP correspondence that will be generated for applicants by ISAC. The Letter ID list below outlines the eligibility message code that appears in the upper right hand corner of the corresponding letter.

ISAC continues to allow the announcement of MAP awards until projections indicate that the dollars appropriated will be exhausted by the number of awards already announced for the year. Once this date is determined, ISAC sends a letter to applicants whose initial FAFSA is received by the federal processor on or after the determined date. This letter indicates that, should MAP funding become available, their school will notify them if they are eligible. |
