IVG File Specifications 2010-11 The IVG File Specifications for the 2009-10 and 2010-11 academic years are available from the Electronic Tools page within the e-Library.
All schools must contact School Services to obtain an ID and password if you want to participate in the IVG FTP process. If you already participate in the MAPnet FTP process, the ID and password will be the same. A new ID and password will be provided if you do not already participate in the MAPnet FTP process. While not required, schools interested in scheduling the transmission of an IVG FTP test file may set this up with School Services. It is anticipated that the 2010-11 budget packets (MAP, ING and IVG) will be available for colleges to retrieve at collegezone.com by April 1, 2010. Colleges can expect the same packet format and general process as last year.
2009-10 On July 15, 2009, the Governor and state legislators reached an agreement regarding the fiscal year 2010 (FY2010) state budget, which determines funding levels for 2009-10 programs that are administered by ISAC. Based on that budget, funding was allocated for IVG Program payment claims for the summer 2009 term. No IVG Program funds have been allocated for the fall or spring terms. By statute, if program funds are insufficient to pay all claims, the student is not responsible for payment of tuition and eligible fees; the public postsecondary institution must waive the tuition and eligible fee amounts. As a result, public institutions are responsible for all eligible students' claims that are submitted for the fall and spring terms, as well as claims submitted after the due dates for each term's claims (i.e., late claims). If ISAC will not be able to reimburse institutions for all IVG claims, payment requests must be submitted to ISAC so eligibility units can be assessed to students' account. The IVG Online Payment functionality that allows colleges to submit IVG Program payment requests via the My Zone portal as well as via File Transfer Protocol (FTP), is available for 2009-10 processing (which begins with the 2009 summer term) beginning July 17, 2009. IVG Online Payment at My Zone is a secure, electronic method of submitting payment claims for the IVG Program and is available daily from 7 a.m. through 7 p.m. (CT). 2009-10 tuition and fees are to be used when claiming payment for summer 2009, since the summer term leads the academic year for the IVG Program. Summer term claims were due on September 15, 2009. IVG claims processing for the fall term will begin on September 16, 2009 and are due on or before January 15, 2010. The start date for spring term claims processing is January 16, 2010 and are due on or before May 25, 2010. Schools will receive a response of "F - Future Claim" for payment requests submitted prior to the term's processing start date. These claims will be held at ISAC and then automatically processed when payment processing for that term begins (i.e., September 16th for fall term or January 16th for spring term). General information about the IVG payment process, including payment request deadlines, can be accessed from the IVG section within the Gift Assistance area. Refer to the IVG Program at My Zone to learn about the online payment process, reports and to access the IVG Online User Guide. Comparison of Grant Programs for Veterans Students who qualify for the Illinois Veteran Grant (IVG) program and the Montgomery or Post-9/11 GI Bills may receive benefits from both programs during the same academic year for eligible educational expenses. Several documents are available from the IVG Eligibility Requirements page within this section, to assist schools and students with the comparison of grant programs for veterans, the impact of GI Bill programs on IVG and a document to assist students with choosing the best program for them. IVG Eligibility Data at My Zone IVG eligibility data is available to view online from the Student Info option within the IVG section at My Zone. Eligibility data is refreshed nightly whenever there is new or updated eligible records. Colleges can monitor whether a veteran has remaining IVG eligibility and obtain a complete payment history for all veterans on record that can be sorted in both a Social Security Number (SSN) order and in alpha order Refer to the Illinois Veteran Grant (IVG) Program page in My Zone for instructions on how to view eligibility data online, request a report and print and/or save it in a PDF format, and download the IVG Master File. |
