2009-10

The Illinois Special Education Teacher Tuition Waiver Program (SETTW) is a tuition waiver for attendance at public universities in Illinois. 2009-10 awards are not subject to annual appropriations by the Illinois General Assembly and the Governor.

Verification Rosters and Certification Forms

The 2009-10 SETTW Verification Rosters and Certification forms listing the students who were awarded in April, and were due back to ISAC by September 25, 2009. The verification roster is used to verify enrollment and program eligibility for each qualified applicant selected to receive a tuition waiver who indicated on the application that they would attend your school during the 2009-10 academic year.

Award Determination

Award Notifications and Rights and Responsibilities forms for the Illinois Special Education Teachers Tuition Waiver (SETTW) program were sent to 250 eligible applications on April 3, 2009 for the 2009-10 academic year. A letter was sent to all other qualified applicants who were not selected.

Application

ISAC is no longer accepting applications for the 2009-10 Illinois SETTW Program. The application for the 2010-11 academic year is scheduled to be available at College Zone in December 2009.  

2008-09

Enrollment Status Verification for Compliance

The 2008-09 Enrollment Status Verification for Compliance rosters and Enrollment Status Verification Forms were mailed to postsecondary school on August 11, 2009. Verification of the enrollment status is requested for SETTW recipients for whom our records indicate are enrolled at your school. Verification of enrollment is needed to meet compliance requirements for the 2008-09 academic year.

The completed Verification for Compliance roster, the signed and dated Verification Form and Tuition Waiver Conversion Form (TWCF) must be returned to ISAC on or before October 30, 2009. A TWCF must be completed for each recipient who is no longer attending school in order to assess and monitor each recipient's teaching requirement and repayment obligation. A TWCF was sent to schools at the time initial awards were announced and verified.
