As a parent, you probably want your student to graduate on time for many reasons, not the least of which is finances. Your student probably wants to finish on time to start a new career. In order to do this, you’ll want to make sure your student plans courses wisely. Be mindful of the required classes specific to each major, and the several elective courses unique to different interests. The quantity of classes taken per semester will help determine the amount of time it will take to graduate. Also, remind your student to take note of the order in which specific classes are taken. Some classes have prerequisite courses that must be completed before admission to the next class is permitted. Your student’s advisor can help plan the schedule appropriately.
