Involvement / Interests
Colleges place great importance on your interests, social involvement and volunteering experiences. They look at what clubs, sports and organizations you’ve been involved with. Plus they look at your interests in helping others through volunteer opportunities. Getting involved can not only help you get into college, but can be a big factor in learning who you are—developing your leadership skills, organizational skills and people skills.

There are plenty of volunteer opportunities within your community in which you may be interested in participating. Experience the invaluable rewards of helping out at a church, soup kitchen or local charity group. Chances are these experiences may help you get into college. Better yet, they may even help you choose your career.
