Counselors & Advisors
If you’re in high school, get to know your high school counselor right away and take advantage of what he/she has to offer. If you’re out of high school, be sure to become acquainted with your college academic advisor. Your counselor/advisor can help you determine what you want to do in the future, based on your skills and interests. If you’re in high school, he/she can help you choose a college that’s right for you, and help you prepare for that college by getting you into the right high school classes.  If you’re out of high school, your college advisor can help you decide what academic program is right for you.

You’ll find many resources in your counselor/advisor’s office, including information on careers, information to help you determine what career might be right for you, information on available financial aid, and brochures and videos on different colleges and areas of study. Plus, your counselor/advisor has plenty of information on upcoming events, such as assessment testing dates, college nights, career seminars and financial-aid sessions. Your counselor/advisor is a great resource – make sure you take advantage of his/her expertise.
