Study Finds Progress in Academic Success for Males
6/27/2006

A June 26, 2006 Washington Post article indicates that, despite recent reports regarding the declining progress of boys in American education, over the past 30 years males have actually demonstrated an increase in test scores and in college enrollment and graduation rates. Some experts speculate that what was perceived as an educational decline for the male population has been, in reality, a significant growth in academic progress for females. The article is based on findings from an Education Sector report entitled The Truth about Boys and Girls, which draws from data compiled from the National Assessment of Educational Progress.

The article is available at the Web site of The Detroit News.
