Baby Boomer Volunteers Help Students Learn How to Read

A June 7, 2006 article from NBC News reports that baby boomers across the country are volunteering their time to help students who are having a difficult time in school. Working through the Experience Corps organization, individuals who are 55 and older serve as tutors and mentors to urban public school children in 14 U.S. cities (including Chicago). One of the primary focuses for these volunteers is to help students learn how to read.
