College Graduates Need to Plan for Health Care until Eligible for Employee Benefits
5/26/2006

According to a recent ARA Content article, the public education program Plan for Your Health conducted a survey of parents with recent (or soon-to-be) college graduates. Results of the survey indicate that many families do not have a set plan in place for their college graduate's health care during the transition period between graduation and becoming eligible for employee benefits. Because less than half of students have secured their first job before they graduate from college, it is important for families to investigate their available options. More than one-third of young adults aged 21 to 24 are uninsured, surpassing all other non-elderly adult age groups.
