A March 10, 2006 article from the Chicago Sun-Times reports that, due to a delay in delivery of testing materials, many third- through eighth-grade students who prepared to take the Illinois Standards Achievement Test (ISAT) starting this week will now have to wait. The company hired by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), Harcourt Assessment, has been unable to meet the agreed-upon delivery timeline. Depending on when districts actually receive all necessary materials, it is anticipated that test dates will be one or more weeks later than originally scheduled.
The article is available at the Web site of the Chicago Sun-Times. A corresponding press release may be accessed via the ISBE Web site.
