Use of Bright Colors in School Impacts Student Performance
12/20/2005

A December 19, 2005 article from The Associated Press spotlights a program in New York called Publicolor, where students are provided with paint and brushes to change their school buildings from drab to bright colors. Since the program's inception in 1994, school administrators report a decrease in dropout rates, fewer discipline problems, and increased attendance. Over the past decade, more than 70 New York City schools have been repainted. During that time, the Publicolor program has grown to provide tutoring, career counseling, and assistance with college preparation.
