More Children Benefiting from School Breakfast Program
12/15/2005

According to a December 14, 2005 article from The Associated Press, the School Breakfast Program is providing free or reduced-price breakfasts to more U.S. children than at any time in the past. Approximately 7.5 million children received breakfast through the program during the 2004-05 academic year. A report from the Food Research and Action Center indicates that, despite the high numbers, less than half of the students who need the program are benefiting from it.

The article is available at the CNN.com Web site.
