Increasing Presence of Women on College Campuses

A December 11, 2005 article from the Northwest Herald (Chicago suburbs) discusses how the presence of women on college campuses continues to rise. The percentage of women going to college in 2004 was approximately 72%, while just over 60% of men enrolled. If current trends continue, experts predict that women may eventually outnumber men in obtaining professional and doctorate degrees.
