Clear Expectations Help Graduate Students Complete Degrees
12/7/2005

A December 6, 2005 article from Inside Higher Ed discusses findings from a recent study regarding why some graduate students complete their degrees sooner than others. According to a Cornell Higher Education Research Institute team, clear expectations from an institution of higher education seem to directly impact completion rates and timeframes. Regular communication between the academic department and the student, discussing expectations and the student's progress, also appear to foster higher completion rates.

The article, which includes a link to the study report, is available at the Inside Higher Ed Web site.
