New Teachers in Illinois Feel Prepared
11/3/2005

An article from The Southern Illinoisan (Carbondale, Illinois) reports that, according to results of a recent survey from the Illinois Association of Deans of Public Colleges of Education, the majority of new teachers in Illinois believe they are prepared for their careers and plan to continue teaching. Almost all of the teachers surveyed said they were satisfied with their career choice, and more than 90% indicated they were pleased with the quality of the education program at the college they attended. Areas where some teachers reported less confidence include the ability to teach students whose primary language is not English, as well as mastering the use of technology in the classroom.

The article is available at The Southern Illinoisan Web site.
