An August 3, 2005 article from The Associated Press highlights how Wellesley College (Massachusetts) alumnae from the classes of 1950 and 2000 shared stories and memories at their recent reunions. Because their experiences were separated by five decades, each group had very different recollections of their college years. For the class of 1950, attending the women's college provided a chance to prepare for a world that was hesitant to let them use their educations. On the other hand, women who graduated in 2000 have so many options available to them that some find the process of deciding how to use their education to be stressful. The majority of the alumnae agreed that actions taken by individuals years ago, such as by members of the class of 1950, paved the way for the many opportunities available to American women today. The article is available at the CNN.com Web site.
