College Students Benefit from Farming
7/26/2005

A July 21, 2005 article from The Associated Press discusses how the last decade has seen an increase in the number of farms run by college students across the United States. Produce from some of these farms are sold at farmers' markets held on campus, while smaller enterprises simply share the food among participants. In either case, students are able to get outside and learn the basics of farming. At other colleges, students benefit from farm-to-college programs where much of the food served on campus is from local farmers.
