Governor Recognized for Pre-K Budget Proposal

According to an April 21, 2005 press release from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), a recent report recognizes Governor Blagojevich for his commitment to expanding pre-school access for children in Illinois. The Fiscal Year (FY) 2006 budget proposed by Governor Blagojevich represents the third year of a three-year, $90 million plan to increase access to state pre-school. The report - entitled Leadership Matters: Governors' Pre-K Proposals, Fiscal Year 2006 - is from Pre-K Now, a national organization that advocates high-quality kindergarten for all three- and four-year-old children in the United States.
