Student Essayists Visit Lincoln Sites
4/21/2005

An April 20, 2005 article from the Herald & Review (Decatur, Illinois) reports that students selected from C-SPAN's "Lincoln and a New Birth of Freedom" essay contest recently visited historic Lincoln sites in central Illinois. The activities were part of preparations for the April 19th opening of Springfield's new Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum. Essays were limited to 272 words, which is the same length as Lincoln's 1863 Gettysburg Address. The article includes several questions the students would like to have asked Lincoln, who was the 16th President of the United States.

The article is available at the Web site of the Herald & Review.
