Campus Visits Help With College Selection Process
3/22/2005

An Associated Press article dated March 20, 2005 chronicles how a parent and her daughter, like many other families with college-bound high school juniors, used spring break to visit college campuses. While information used to develop a student's list of potential colleges can be gathered online and via phone conversations, actually visiting the campuses of top choices can help with the final decision-making process. In-person visits allow the student and family to get a feel for the social and physical environment of a college, which is difficult to do without being on campus. The article offers the author's personal insights, as well as tips for conducting an exploratory college search.

The article is available at the Chicago Sun-Times Web site.
