Planning for Indirect College Costs

Most families with a college-bound student understand that they will need to pay for tuition and fees, as well as room and board. A March 1, 2005 Forbes article examines indirect costs also associated with a college education that many families do not include when preparing their budgets. Items such as laundry, travel, entertainment, computer access, and tutoring can all increase the over-all cost for one year of college. The article includes links to suggestions for curbing some of these indirect costs.
