Preparing High School Students for College and Work

A February 23, 2005 news release announces a recent study from ACT and The Education Trust. On Course for Success: A Close Look at Selected Courses That Prepare All Students for College examines what high schools should be teaching students in order to best prepare them for college and the work environment. Included are recommendations regarding specific skills that should be taught in English, math, and science courses. A total of 10 high schools, including two from Illinois, participated in the study.
