A November 5, 2009 article from The Associated Press discusses the fact that today's college students may learn better from - and be more interested in - those who have failed, rather than those who have been highly successful. By hearing from individuals who have struggled in their public and/or personal lives, students can prepare for the possibility of future set-backs in their own lives, and also learn how others have faced failure and then moved on to be successful in other endeavors. Some educators believe this could be a particularly valuable lesson for those who are currently in their 20s (often referred to as "Gen-Y"), because many of these students have been raised in an environment that has protected them from experiencing failure.
