Increasing Number of Students Paying for College without Help from Parents
5/29/2008

According to a May 27, 2008 Chicago Tribune article, an increasing number of college students are funding their education without assistance from their parents. Challenges facing families in the current economy are making more parents unwilling to assume a high level of debt to help their children attend college. In addition to the financial reasons, some parents also try to teach their children financial responsibility by having them pay their own way.

The article is available at the Chicago Tribune Web site.
