Illinois Governor Among Those Urging Passage of Post 9-11 GI Bill

Twenty-nine state governors, including Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, are urging Congressional leaders to support and pass the Post 9-11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act (the Post 9-11 GI Bill) (S. 22 and H.R. 5740).  The Act is part of a supplemental funding measure being considered by the U.S. Department of Defense, and is aimed at assisting service people who have been on active duty since September 11, 2001 with their educational goals.
