Twenty-Five Years Later, Opinions Differ Regarding 'A Nation at Risk'
4/23/2008

An April 22, 2008 USA Today article discusses how, a quarter-century after it was released, the 1983 report entitled 'A Nation at Risk' still evokes differing opinions regarding the impact it has had on education in America. Some experts believe that the report's strong tone was necessary in order to bring about positive changes in the education system. Others contend that it painted an unnecessarily harsh view of public education. Included in the article is a side-bar, which provides the current status of five recommendations that had been made in the 1983 report.

The article is available at the USA Today Web site.
