Students Perform Best in Small Classes

According to a March 24, 2008 USA Today article, students tend to perform best in smaller classes. Even if teachers do not alter their teaching styles based on class size, students respond better in smaller classes. Simply being able to have more one-on-one contact with the teacher, and work with classmates in small groups, seems to help students benefit from smaller classes. These students also tend to be more focused and less likely to misbehave. The article is based on data collected from the USA, England, Hong Kong and Switzerland.
