Spurred by the recent tragedy at Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, the Illinois Board of Higher Education (IBHE) will begin a process of surveying every state college to determine campus safety needs. The survey is the first step in encouraging state lawmakers to increase the higher education budget to help keep students safe on campus. A report on the findings from the survey is expected to be completed and presented to members of the General Assembly by the end of spring. Learn more about the survey and its goals in the article at the pantagraph.com Web site. |
