Colleges Increasingly Utilizing the Internet to Recruit New Students
1/7/2008

A January 7, 2008 article from The Boston Globe reports that colleges across the country are increasingly turning to the Internet and other forms of technology to recruit prospective new students. Interactive and multimedia technology is, in some cases, taking the place of printed brochures and campus visits. By utilizing some of the latest technology, colleges hope to connect on a level with which high school students are familiar and comfortable. In recent years, college admission officers have seen a decrease in the number of students responding to direct mailings, while the number who apply for admission without having previously contacted the college has increased.
