Colleges and Corporations Encouraging Older Students to Attend College
11/1/2007

According to a recent article from U.S. News & World Report, colleges across the country are doing more to encourage older students to enroll. Many courses are being offered at times that better fit the schedule of individuals who are employed on a full-time basis. In addition to colleges, some companies are offering incentives to help older students take classes, ranging from flexible work hours to gifts of company stock for those who complete their degree. Several programs have also been launched to encourage retirees to return to college in order to become teachers, allowing them to continue earning an income while sharing the benefit of their years of experience with younger students.
