Currency Exchange Rates Impact Study Abroad Students
10/12/2007

An October 12, 2007 Newsweek article reports that, due to current exchange rates that show the dollar falling while the euro rises, American college students who study abroad are finding it more difficult to budget their finances. Some students estimate that, based on the exchange rate, they are spending 50% more on items overseas. In order to earn money in the host country's currency, some students are traveling abroad and working before the start of the academic year.

The article is available at the MSNBC Web site.
