A June 27, 2007 press release from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) announces Summer Camp in the Shelter, a pilot program taking place in Illinois this summer that will provide elementary and middle-school children in participating homeless shelters with an opportunity to learn about the fine arts. Six family homeless shelters throughout Illinois are participating in the program, which is sponsored by ISBE.
