College Graduates Showing Increased Interest in Public Service
6/13/2007

A June 12, 2007 USA Today article reports that, prior to seeking full-time employment, new college graduates are showing an increased interest in volunteering for public service organizations. Rather than embarking on a job search, many graduates are choosing community service as their first experience after college. Volunteers can develop skills that may later be of benefit in the workplace. In some cases, volunteering provides recent graduates with an opportunity to test whether they will be happy in their chosen career.
