Cash and Gift Cards Among Most Common Graduation Gifts

According to a May 23, 2007 article from NBC5 (WMAQ-TV, Chicago), most Americans will give cash or gift cards to friends and relatives who are graduating this year. Based on a survey from the National Retail Federation, the article indicates that, on average, consumers plan to give two graduates gifts worth $50 each. Across the nation, more than $4.5 billion in graduation gifts are expected to be given.
