 A May 12th e-Message confirms that college loans will continue to be available for Illinois families with students attending college during the 2008-09 academic year.

 If your son or daughter is a college student or recent college graduate who is seeking entry-level employment opportunities, encourage them to check out the CollegeGrad.com Web site. Free resources - ranging from career exploration, resume writing and job searches to salary negotiation and new job advice - are available.

An updated version of the Comparison of Teacher Education Programs, now containing information about the Federal TEACH Grant, is available in both the 8th - 12th Grades and College sections of the Student Zone, under the left menu item entitled Teaching.

If you (and/or your dependent child) used estimated income data when completing the 2008-09 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the U.S. Department of Education (ED) will be sending your student a reminder (via either e-mail or the U.S. Postal Service) during the months of May and June to remind them to compare the income portion of the Student Aid Report (SAR) with information from completed 2007 tax returns, and make corrections as necessary.
