| 2008-09 Acknowledgement Letters |
ISAC will send only one acknowledgement letter to each applicant. The school, rather than ISAC, notifies the applicant of changes in eligibility status. An acknowledgement letter will not be sent to a student for an initial SAR transaction with a calculated Expected Family Contribution (EFC) equal to or greater than $9,000, unless the student is in a default status (the corresponding default letter is produced and mailed regardless of the EFC). Subsequent transactions in which the EFC is reduced below $9,000 would receive the acknowledgement letter. As a reminder, acknowledgement letters are dated and mailed three business days after the ISAC processing of the ISIR record.
The following are specific types of 2008-09 MAP correspondence that will be generated for applicants by ISAC. The Letter ID list below outlines the eligibility message code that appears in the upper right hand corner of the corresponding letter.

ISAC continues to allow the announcement of MAP awards until projections indicate that the dollars appropriated will be exhausted by the number of awards already announced for the year. Once this date is determined, ISAC sends a letter to applicants whose initial FAFSA is received by the federal processor on or after the determined date. This letter indicates that, should MAP funding become available, their school will notify them if they are eligible. |
