College or University
People generally use the terms “college” and “university” interchangeably. However there is a difference in their actual meaning. While colleges are typically smaller than universities, size alone does not determine under which category an institution fits.

A college offers a particular type of degree, such as a Bachelor of Arts. A university offers multiple degrees, such as undergraduate and graduate degrees. Plus, universities divide their programs of study into different schools called colleges. For example, a university may have a College of Liberal Arts and Science, a Graduate School of Education, and a School of Business, among others. Help your student select the college or university that’s right, based on the desired area of study and future plans.
