If you had set up a 529 prepaid tuition plan with College Illinois!, it’s time to reap the benefits. During the senior year in high school, College Illinois! will contact your child to confirm the college’s eligibility and discuss the benefits of prepaid tuition. Benefits can be used at colleges across the United States, not just in Illinois. Contracts must be paid in full before your child can use any benefits, and benefits cannot be used until three years after the first payment due date. After your child is enrolled in college, College Illinois! will take care of tuition and mandatory fee payments, sending funds directly to the college.
