Through Blanket Certificate of Loan Guaranty, schools send loan requests directly to lenders, and lenders are then able to disburse Federal Stafford and PLUS loan funds prior to submitting loan data to the guarantor. The goal of blanket guaranty is to provide a more streamlined loan origination process and further enhance the efficiency and quality of service to borrowers and schools. Blanket guaranty creates an environment for loan origination to occur between the school and the lender. It requires loan processing to be done electronically using an Internet-based platform that accommodates the lender flow of data.
Lenders must execute a Blanket Certificate of Loan Guaranty with ISAC. The instructions are available with the link to the Certificate. Complete and return two signed copies of the Blanket Certificate of Loan Guaranty. When the approval is complete, one signed original copy will be returned.
