Job Posting for College Illinois! Corps in Illinois
Job Duties Provide accurate, complete, and sensitive counsel to students facing academic, financial and social barriers to higher education. Deliver presentations relevant to higher education for middle, high school, and college student audiences. Serve as agency liaison at college fairs, financial aid nights, conferences, and related events. Familiarize community members and college admissions counselors with the programs and services offered by ISAC. Provide technically proficient, yet easily accessible advice and information to the parents of potentially college-bound students on the college admission and financial aid application process.
Location College Illinois! Corps members are placed geographically in community college districts throughout the state or in specific schools in the city of Chicago. A map of the community college districts can be found in the right hand corner of the college Illinois website at http://collegeillinois.org/. Applicants living in the following community college districts are encouraged to apply:
Northwestern Illinois Black Hawk College, Highland Community College, and Rock Valley College.
Northeastern Illinois College of DuPage, Joliet Junior College, McHenry County College, and Waubonsee Community College.
Eastern Illinois Danville Area Community College and Lake Land College.
Western Illinois Spoon River College.
Southern Illinois Kaskaskia College.
Requirements
Bachelors degree required, must have earned no earlier than May 2010
Willingness to relocate within the state of Illinois, at the expense of the employee, if necessary
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other database products
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; i.e. public speaking, research projects, writing, telephone etiquette, email etiquette
We are seeking several candidates with strong verbal and written command of a foreign language, such as Spanish or Polish, to be placed in the greater Chicago metropolitan area.
Compensation/Benefits
$25,000 annual salary
5 weeks paid vacation (3 of those weeks are predetermined)
12 paid holidays
12 sick days

This public service opportunity is a 2 year commitment.
