“Early analysis” is an option only available on FAFSA on the Web. This option is intended to be used by individuals who want to receive an early indication of what their Expected Family Contribution (EFC) would be for the following academic year.
- The “early analysis” field can be updated on the Student Aid Report (SAR) or Institutional Student Information Record (ISIR) and the “early analysis” flag will be removed.
- In order to prevent true “early analysis” filers from being classified as continuing students in the following year, MAP and/or IIA grant-eligible electronic FAFSA filers who indicate “early analysis” are not loaded to the ISAC database and are not considered for MAP and/or IIA grants.
- To remove the “early analysis” indicator, the first ISIR transaction that had the “early analysis” flag must be sent through the Central Processing System (CPS) by the school as a correction in order to change this flag to a blank. Once the blank appears on the ISIR, the record will load to ISAC’s database.
Payment Process
- Once the student's record is corrected and loaded to the ISAC database, it will also be loaded to the MAPnet database. The school may request payment once it is listed in MAPnet.
