MRS Award Procedures
{ISAC Rules, Part 2761.30}

This award is not based on financial need.

Scholarship funds are applicable to two semesters or three quarter terms and must be used for educational expenses, including, but not limited to, tuition and fees, room and board, books and supplies, required service academy uniforms, and travel and personal expenses related to the recipient’s enrollment.

Scholarship funds may be used to cover educational expenses for a summer term (funds will be disbursed in two installments based on the terms financed by the scholarship).

Note: The Merit Recognition Scholarship (MRS) Program was not funded by the Illinois General Assembly in the fiscal year 2008 (2007-08 academic year) budget. As a result, eligible students entering college as freshmen in the fall of 2007 will not be receiving the scholarships.
