{ISAC Rules, Section 2736.40}
For students who list their class level as freshman on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and have a calculated Expected Family Contribution (EFC) of zero (0), their MAP announcement letters include information explaining that they have applied for the IIA Grant. This letter acknowledges receipt of the student's application, but does not include an award amount. As a reminder, letters from ISAC are dated and mailed three business days after the ISAC processing of the ISIR record.
The Award Announcement is initiated by the school. The school sends an announcement of an estimated IIA Grant amount to the student on the school's award letter.
2010-11 Academic Year
Based on current 2010-11 budget estimates, no IIA Program award information appears on the 2010-11 acknowledgement letters sent to students by ISAC. Colleges are urged not to announce IIA awards, as preliminary indications are that the program will not receive funding for the 2010-11 academic year. As more definite information becomes available during the fiscal year 2011 state budget process, you will be notified via the usual communication methods.
