Budget Packets Available Online

As announced in an April 2nd e-Message, the 2008-09 budget packets for the Monetary Award Program (MAP), the Illinois Veteran Grant (IVG) program and the Illinois National Guard (ING) Grant program are available online in both Portable Document Format (PDF) and Microsoft Word format.

The Gift Assistance Programs Budget Packet allows schools participating in MAP, IVG and ING, to enter their budget information on one form. Schools that participate only in MAP will complete the Monetary Award Program Budget Packet. A completed budget packet, submitted electronically or via paper, must be received at ISAC on or before June 1, 2008.

Access budget packets, instructions and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) for the MAP, IVG and ING Grant programs by selecting the "Budget Reporting - MAP, IVG & ING" option from the left-margin menu of the FAA Zone Processes area.

2007-08

The FY2008 appropriation for the Illinois National Guard (ING) Grants is $4,480,000.

Payment Proration History

Proration of 2007-08 Spring Term Payment Claims

As announced in a May 14th e-Message, timely second and/or third term claims for the 2007-08 ING Grant Program will be prorated at 72.64% due to a funding shortfall, (i.e., $72.64 will be paid for every $100.00 of eligibility). Institutions will be responsible for a percentage (27.36%) of each eligible student's 2007-08 timely second or third term award, and will be responsible for 100% of all eligible students' summer claims and late claims (i.e., claims that were submitted after the due dates for each term's claims).

2007-08 ING Grant payment vouchers, along with an Illinois National Guard (ING) Grant Spring Term Claim Proration Worksheet (2007-08 Academic Year), will be sent to schools in the coming weeks. These documents will state the prorated amount paid to the institution for 2007-08 ING Grant spring term claims.

Payment

The 2007-08 spring term supplemental requests to claim payment for applicants eligible for payment who were not included on the spring term roster (due in April) or to make changes to information included on the original roster were due May 1, 2008.

Further details regarding the ING Grant payment process, a sample roster and blank forms are available at the Payment Procedures for the ING Grant page within this section of the Gift Assistance area.

Notification of Eligibility Available at My Zone

The Illinois National Guard (ING) Grant Announcement Rosters for the 2007-08 academic year are available online at My Zone. The date of the roster corresponds with the date on the student's award letter.

The ING Announcement Roster provides information for each applicant who has applied for the ING Grant with your institution listed as the college of record, and for whom the Illinois Department of Military Affairs has confirmed eligibility as of the date printed at the top of the first page of the roster

Reminder: The ING Grant Announcement Rosters, which are designed to assist in the financial aid packaging process by notifying colleges of eligible ING Grant applicants, may be used in place of collecting copies of the Notice of Eligibility letter that ISAC sends to students.

Application

The 2007-08 Illinois National Guard (ING) Grant application is available to print from College Zone.
