MAP Start-Up

Daily processing of ISIR and eligibility status information, using the 2008-09 start-up formula, began on February 8, 2008. MAP and IIA program data can be accessed via MAPnet. As a reminder, when applying the 2008-09 start-up formula, the maximum annual award amount for a MAP grant is $4,968.

The MAP and IIA areas within the Gift Assistance Programs section of the FAA Zone have been updated to include the 2008-09 MAP Formula, information regarding calculating a term award for both semester and quarter schools, guidance regarding rounding and the hand calculation forms. The updated MAPnet User Guide can be accessed within the Processes area of the FAA Zone or by clicking the "Using MAPnet" right hand menu item. The State & Federal Aid Estimator, which provides an estimate of MAP and federal aid, is available from the Calculators area within the e-Library. Refer to the Program News page regularly for up-to-date information about each program.

Notification to Applicants

Samples of 2008-09 acknowledgement letters that ISAC sends to students are available within the ISAC Gift Assistance Programs area, along with the MAP Rights & Responsibilities form and the IIA Information Sheet.

2008-09 MAP-ADP File Specifications

The MAP-Automated Delivery Process (ADP) File Specifications have been updated for the 2008-09 processing cycle. This 160-byte file layout is pertinent to schools utilizing the file extraction features of MAPnet, or sending payment requests for MAP or the IIA Programs to ISAC via File Transfer Protocol (FTP). No changes have been made for 2008-09 processing. The 2008-09 MAP-ADP File Specifications are available within the Electronic Tools section of the e-Library.

2007-08

The FY2008 appropriation for the Silas Purnell Illinois Incentive for Access (IIA) Grant is $8,200,000.

IIA Program Payment Alert

As announced in an April 11th e-Message, all timely 2007-08 IIA Program payment claims that have been held since March 5th will be processed the evening of Monday, April 14, 2008. Records that will be included in the April 14th payment run are currently in an "Exported" status (Status Flag = "E") in MAPnet. Payment results for these records will be available in MAPnet on Tuesday, April 15, 2008.

ISAC will pay all timely 3rd term claims, however, positive IIA payment requests submitted (for all terms) on or after April 15th will be held and not processed, until further notice. Cancellations to previously paid requests will continue to be processed.

Schools are encouraged to complete a full reconciliation of IIA Program disbursements and report all cancellations as soon as possible by following the cancellation guidance provided in the Processes section of the FAA Zone. ISAC will inform schools when it is time to return funds associated with the cancellations.

As new information becomes available regarding 2007-08 IIA Program payment processing, it will be shared following ISAC's established methods of communication (i.e., IIA Program News, FAA Zone Message Board, and e-Messages).
