What’s New?
2012-13
Funds were not allocated by the Illinois General Assembly for the FY13 Illinois Veteran Grant (IVG) Program. As a result, ISAC will not be able to reimburse institutions for 2012-13 IVG awards. However, payment requests still must be submitted so eligibility units can be accurately assessed to students’ accounts.
Payment processing for the 2012-13 IVG Program begins on August 10, 2012. 2012-13 tuition and fees are to be used when claiming payment for summer 2012, since the summer term leads the academic year for the IVG Program. Summer term claims are due on or before September 15, 2012.
IVG payment claim processing for the fall term will begin on September 16, 2012 and are due on or before January 15, 2013. The start date for spring term claims processing is January 16, 2013 and are due on or before May 25, 2013. Schools will receive a response of "F - Future Claim" for payment requests submitted prior to the term's processing start date. These claims will be held at ISAC and then automatically processed when payment processing for that term begins (i.e., September 16th for fall term or January 16th for spring term)
What is available in IVG at My Zone?
When the Illinois Veteran Grant (IVG) Program is selected from the My Zone Program Selection screen, the first screen that displays is the IVG Eligibility: Filter. The left side menu has been expanded to include Views, Reports and File Extract with additional options within each function. The pages that discuss IVG in My Zone are separated by eligibility, online payment and reports.
IVG Eligibility at My Zone
IVG eligibility data is available to view online in the Student Info view at My Zone. Colleges can monitor whether a veteran has remaining IVG eligibility and view a complete payment history for all veterans on record that can be sorted in both a Social Security Number (SSN) order and in alpha order
IVG Online Payment at My Zone
The IVG Online Payment allows colleges to submit IVG Program payment requests via the My Zone portal as well as via File Transfer Protocol (FTP). IVG Online Payment at My Zone is a secure, electronic method and is and is available Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. through 7 p.m. (CT).

- Payment List
The Payment List option provides access to several screens used to create a list of students to include in an IVG claim, the ability to complete and submit claims online using the Claim Detail screen, and the ability to view and screen print IVG claim history via the School Claim History: View.
- School Claim List
Colleges can identify the term and academic year and define columns to display a list of students included in a previous claim. The list can be used to claim payment for a subsequent term, make corrections or replacement claims or view the payment claim history for the students included in the School Claim List.
- Payment Results File
IVG payment results for payment requests submitted online or via File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is available to retrieve from the File Extract option in the left menu.
IVG Reports at My Zone
Two different types of IVG reports available at My Zone are: user-defined reports and pre-defined Payment Results reports. User-Defined reports are generated from eligibility data based on criteria identified by the user and can be requested at any time. The pre-defined reports (Payment Claim reports and Invoice reports) are available to retrieve the day after payment claims are processed. Both types of reports can be viewed online, printed or saved on a desktop in a Portable Document Format (PDF).
