According to a March 23, 2007 CNN/Money article, college graduates from the class of 2007 are facing a very promising job market. Projections indicate that approximately 17% more college graduates will be hired this year than in 2005-06. Some colleges have seen such an increase in interested job recruiters that they have had to either turn companies away, or add more job fairs to their schedules. Many graduating seniors are choosing to spend time engaged in altruistic service (such as teaching English abroad or working for Americorps) before embarking on their career path. For those students who do plan to begin working right after graduation, the corporate culture and future growth opportunities of prospective employers, along with potential salary, factor into the decision-making process.
